This is the beginning of Moments Between. A series of contemporary cityscape oil paintings exploring people within urban spaces.

The spaces themselves are central to the work.

Lancaster’s streets, lights, reflections and shifting perspectives become part of the atmosphere and emotion of each piece. Many of the reference images are taken instinctively while moving through the city. Quick observations, shot from the hip, fragments captured in passing.

The first painting, Contemplating One In Spoons, begins the series.
